HRIS provides UW Human Resources with consulting and systems to manage information and work in a secure, efficient and effective manner in support of the department's mission. <br><br>Human Resources Administration and Information Systems has an outstanding opportunity for a Human Resources Information Systems Developer - Cold Fusion. <br><br>This position is a key participant in the continued enhancement of the UW HR Information Management architecture and platform including SharePoint, Analysis, Reporting and Employment Systems. Development and analysis functions will be performed in partnership with HRIS customer groups and internal HRIS staff and others at the University, State and vendor companies. <br><br>Responsibilities <br><br>Participate in the ongoing development, test and deployment and support of employment systems, reporting, analysis and decision support infrastructure for HR client groups. This includes developing new SQL and web applications delivered through the Information Management infrastructure. <br>Primary responsibility for development and application support of UWHIRES the University of Washington’s staff employment system. <br>Create decision support portals for departments to deliver against new reporting framework. <br>Provide data analysis support and advanced SQL query development as required. <br>Work with HR business units and campus clients in specifying data requirements, designing tools, reports and applications. <br>Maintain strict confidentiality concerning a variety of sensitive HR issues <br>Actively participate in the HR Information Services Team. <br>Perform related duties as required. <br><br><br>As an employee you will enjoy generous benefits and work/life programs. For a complete description of our benefits for this position, please view this page. <br><br>Requirements <br><br>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience AND minimum of 5 years of professional IT experience developing and maintaining database driven applications and/or web sites. <br><br>Additional Requirements <br><br>Minimum 2 years experience with: <br><br>ColdFusion 7 <br>. NET technology / Visual Studio .NET <br>HTML, CSS <br>XML <br>SharePoint <br>SQL 2005 and related services <br><br>Minimum 3 years systems analysis experience, including requirements gathering, functional design, and technical design. <br>Working knowledge of web browser technology, features, and functionality <br>Proven experience with unit and systems testing. <br>Proficiency with PC based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office suite of applications <br>Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems for servers and workstations. <br>Demonstrated initiative, follow-up and the ability to prioritize effectively. <br>Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills. <br>Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction, independently and as part of a team. <br>Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills <br>Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills. <br>Demonstrated planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting skills. <br>Ability to work effectively with a geographically dispersed team and client base. <br>Applying principles of accessibility in design. <br>Experience with web, data and application security issues and best practices. <br><br><br>Desired: <br><br>Related work experience in a HR (preferred), Payroll or Financial systems environment. <br>Knowledge of UW administrative computing systems, technological environment and infrastructure directions desirable. <br>Experience working with portal applications, ideally targeted towards HR or financial decision support. <br>Development experience in employment systems a significant plus. <br>Experience with Test Driven Development or other agile methodologies. <br><br><br>Application Process: <br>Part of the application process for this position includes completing an on-line cover letter assessment to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
