Jan 29 2011 Excited for Seattle CFUG in 2011

Hey guys - I just wanted to mention how excited I am for the Seattle CFUG group in 2011. We had a good turn out this last week with some great questions and conversation and it's a great sign of meetings to come.

It seems we've got a wide mix of experience and skill level represented at group right now which really adds to the quality of our meetings, though I hope everyone feels able to ask questions and share knowledge even as the group gets larger. I also think we all agree that the new meeting room really helps to facilitate conversation rather than everyone being spread out around the previous large conference room.

I know how quickly a less experienced developer can feel left behind or confused as we step into more advanced subjects, but I want to encourage you all to speak up - we WANT these groups to be an opportunity for you to learn and grow and want to make sure everyone feels supported in their desire to excel in ColdFusion and web development. So please feel free to come to group with a list of questions - even if they aren't on topic. If you aren't able to learn something new or help someone grow themselves each month then we're doing something wrong.

I'm also going to be working to build out some of the forum and communication features of this website over the next few months so we can continue many of these conversations during the rest of the month.

Again, I'm looking forward to learning from you all in the coming months and please drop me a line if you have any questions or ideas for us.
